Balijan Classic Summer Black Tea

description

Coming all the way from one of Assam's top tea estates, this is one of the most palate friendly black teas of the season. What it lacks in texture it makes up for with flavors that are a bit sweet, slightly brisk, and really warm.

Great every day assam

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime.

Earthy undertones and a smooth malty, broad middle with slightly sweet top notes make for a perfect everyday Assam tea.

Bold but not overwhelming Assam

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime, Morning.

This is a very smooth and sweet tasting Assam. Malty before and after brewing, but not overpowering. As always, do not oversteep unless you like bitterness!

Nice strong tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Strong.

Best Served : Anytime.

Brews well and is nice and strong. Flavor mostly enjoyable, but can get a bit too fruity if over steeped

Not a fan, too bitter!

Dislikes : No Flavor, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Too bitter and not much flavour, I couldn't even overcome with blending (though I keep trying). Not the best :(

Thought It Was Mild Vs Robust

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon.

After seeping this tea for 4 minutes and finding it very smooth and mild, I made another cup that I seeped for 5 minutes. There still was no bitterness to the tea, which I appreciated. However, it's not my favorite tea from Teabox.

Lovely bold tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime.

This tea is a bit stronger than some of the other tea box Assam's I have tried. I typically like bold tea and I did like this, but I felt there was a slight aftertaste. Very nice and smooth though.

Llight, clear and strong malty

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon, Dessert Tea.

I drink this tea plane. Flavor is malty assam with little sweet and mild astringent. and not too astrigent. This tea's prominent character is clear malty, light, clear and strong malty.

Likely perfect with a bit of sweet for those liking mild black tea

Likes : Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Anytime.

This is a perfectly good black tea: very mild flavor that tends to not get bitter (steeped one cup for over 10 minutes - not a bit of bitter to it, even plainly drank). It is definitely not malty, and with a bit of sweetener, perked up okay for my tastes. Not even a hint of astringency. Again, quite mild and smooth in flavor, which I imagine is attractive to some. With that being said, it is not my cup of tea. Ha!

A great wake-me-up

Likes : Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Strong.

Best Served : Morning.

This is a nice basic tea for morning, with a strong robust flavor. It is not bitter but has a nice smooth flavor. The maltiness is most prominent, but as the description says, it has a pleasant aftertaste that lasts longer than normal.

Strongly characterised Assam

Likes : Freshness.

Best Served : Morning.

Full flavoured, completely fermented tea. Subtle flavour nuances are overshadowed in fermented teas such as this one. An excellent pick-me-up for the tired. I am sure Mrs Tiggywinkle would approve of this tea.
