Coombergram Classic Summer Black Tea

description

This year, we have enjoyed the richness of the teas from Coombergram. This black tea comes tipped with big and robust flavors but they feel incredibly easy on the palate; it's sure to find takers among both seasoned and new palates.

My Favorite Black Tea Yet!

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

This is the best black tea I have ever had! I was a bit nervous when I first tried it because it smells sort of fruity, and I don't like fruity teas at all. However, the taste is more of a honey taste than a fruity one. This tea is absolutely delicious and amazing when sweetened!

Delicious smell when dry

Likes : Great Aroma.

Best Served : Anytime.

You can definitely smell the honey when dry, and it's very appealing. I felt the need to add a fair amount of sweetener to combat the "bitter" aspect of the flavor, but that's just how I prefer it. Otherwise it had a good flavor.

I love this black tea in the morning. Great to wake up and start the day. Not too heavy, but enough flavor and boldness to get the day started.

Makes great iced tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

I made a gallon of iced tea with this tea and it was spectacular. Good amount of tea flavor without it being overpowering or overly bitter. Great malty flavor to it. Look forward to getting more of it.

After trying this tea only once I think it will probably become one of my go-to teas in the morning. I think it is good plain, I don't feel it needs any condiments.

Exceptionally smooth and mellow

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

This is possibly the smoothest and most mellow of the Assam teas available here. It has a wheaty malty base complimented by a delectable sweet undertone. Its similar in tone to the Harmutty and also has the medium caffeine content which makes it ideal for afternoon and evening refreshment.

The tea provides a robust flavour profile and leaves you yearning for more. For me this is best drunk as it is without any condiments.

Very strong

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

This is a very strong black. After trying it once per instructions, I immediately began using much less tea per cup than directed. The flavors are very good, just quite powerful if drunk plain. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

Aroma better than flavor

Likes : Great Aroma.

Best Served : Anytime.

The aroma of this tea is listed as "Honey, Wheat, Malt," but to my nose, it's more grassy and earthy. That's not a bad thing, because that makes for a delicious kind of black tea. The taste, unfortunately, doesn't quite live up to the aroma, and it has a closing palate that's a little bitter. However, the aroma stays strong even when steeped, and this is one of those blacks that can withstand a second steeping.

It had a great taste. It's the first assam tea that I've liked. It had a nice color but I did find it a little light. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

A very dark, strong tea - loved it! A bit of a 'dry' mouthfeel but adding milk helped with that - and the taste! Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

I really loved this tea with milk and honey. I was worried that this would overpower the tea but you could still taste the tea!

Malty and good for all day

Likes : High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime.

I like malty teas. I like strong teas, probably to the extent that some would call the tea too strong or even bitter. I don't get that with this tea (with all due respect to other reviewers; palates differ!). On my second cup, for a test and to 'repeat' my first cup, I measured a 1/2 teaspoon tea, added boiling water, steeped for 4 minutes. I then added honey and milk, which are my usual additives. The resulting cup was a bit weaker than first, as I usually use about a teaspoon of tea, but again, a good solid, what I call well-rounded taste. No hint of bitter, and a malty base. This is a kind of tea that I look for. Unfortunately, I end up losing the source or otherwise am unable to get the tea. Needless to say, I'm about to order a lot. A whole lot.

I also received this as a free sample. The leaves have a very fresh, vegetal, aroma, which I thought was interesting. The tea itself has a strong, acrid flavor, although it was not unpleasant. I would probably drink this with a lemon slice or with milk and honey in the future.

Nice normal tea

Likes : Smooth Body.

Best Served : Morning.

I got this as a free sample and it makes a nice strong cup of tea, good for first thing in the morning. There isn't much more to it than that though! Also the leaves seem to absorb an enormous amount of liquid, unlike any tea I have seen before!

Average Assam

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

I received this tea as a free sample. The tea makes a dark amber colored brew with plenty of malty, honey like aroma with subtle scents of grass beneath. On the palate however, it lacks character - it is certainly malty, but not a great deal more. It is not markedly sweet and becomes bitter if steeped for more than 3 mins. %0rtainly not great either
