Darjeeling Special Spring Chinary Black Tea

description

A blend of the finest first flush chinary teas, it’s is full of bright green flavors and the earthy tinctures that one associates with a good chinary. We especially love the burst of flavors that strike the palate with every sip.

the experience

While the liquor starts out clean it turns full-flavored and earthy very quickly. Green notes, similar to cut grass and coriander, come through in the middle accompanied by notes of yellow tree fruit and burnt wood towards the end. The liquor is largely smooth and easy going but feels slightly sour around the edges.

Steamed chicken, steamed dumplings, lemon fish fillet, and Greek salad.

Floral and Fresh

Likes : Freshness.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

This tea had a very pleasant eucalyptus aroma. The tasting profile was very mild, floral with a slight eucalyptus echo which became more pronounced as the tea cooled. It was very nice but I prefer a more 'exciting' Darjeeling (like the Castleton).

Interesting black tea.

Best Served : Morning.

This tea has everything that I am looking for in a breakfast tea. It goes great with cream and sugar and has emorning. I drink 1-2 cups before I leave the house each morning and I always have enough energy throughout the day. The taste is smooth and the flavor is slightly spicy. I am not sure what 'Chinary' means but my guess is that it is supposed to be similar to a Chinese black tea, which is what I find in the flavor profile. An very superior black tea all-around.An very superior black tea all-around.

Good, but a little too "ordinary"

Likes : Freshness.

Best Served : Morning.

The teabox tasting notes says grass and eucalyptus as aroma, but I sense more flowers than grass. The eucalyptus adds a nice freshness. Taste is a little to "ordinary tea" for my taste. The eucalyptus notes is still nice, but I prefer more flowers or fruit. Floral notes are more evident in the finish, and this is the best part of the "tea experience" for me. The tea is by all means good, but can not compere with the best darjeelings in either aroma, taste or finish.

Pleasantly organic taste and aroma

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime.

The leaves had a nice floral aroma to them, though instead of the light and dry scent I expected, it was much more rich, closer to a second flush tea than a first. Also surprising was the colouration of the tea once steeped, in that because some of the leaves were green or green-tipped instead of wholly black, the tea looked more like Oolong than Black, however the flavour was nice and rich. It still had the floral aroma about it, and could be easily tasted when taken plain, and while the body had a bit of a rough aftertaste, it was very faint and in general it was pleasantly smooth.
