Doomni Exotic Summer Oolong Tea

description

While Assam is not known for its oolongs, estates like Doomni occasionally produce this tea in the summer. This summer flush oolong is one of our favorites this season. Its flavors are clean, nectar-like, full in the mouth, and well-balanced and that checks every box for a good oolong.

good basic oolong

Nice jasmine aroma. Gets bitter if over steeped.

Wonderful aroma

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

I love the fruity slightly floral aroma of this tea. I am a big fan of long tease and I especially enjoy this one. I almost always drink my tea straight, I especially don't like to sweeten it. This tea is wonderful straight. When first brewed, and it is very easy to drink. However it does grow in astringency the longer it sits in the cup. I left a little bit in the bottom of my cup and then finished it off to take my cup into the kitchen. There was quite a bit of astringency. At that point it pretty much tasted like a regular black tea to me. So this is definitely a TV that I would order again but one that should be drunk soon after it is brewed unless of course you add some sweetener to it.

Smooth flavor with a hint of mint

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

Best Served : Afternoon.

It is a very fresh flavor with a smooth body. If I hadn't read the flavor profile, I probably wouldn't have been able to quite put my finger on the mint. It's extremely subtle and I only notice it after the sip has left my palette. It's even less pronounced after the tea has cooled some.

Honeysuckle Oolong Assam

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Strong, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Afternoon.

Rich aroma of honeysuckle. Tannic and acidic on the palate, with lingering dryness/bitterness. I've tried a couple Doomni Black Assams, and I can definitely see a resemblance. Love the smell, but the palate is a little too brisk for me.

Very Strong Tea. Great for morning cup!

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

I use this tea to get me started, and it does deliver; however, the lengthy steeping time does result in a very bitter tea. I find that its aromas are slightly more on the vegetal side, which is not something I am quite as fond of in my teas, This, combined with the astringency of the tannin, even when I use a slightly shorter steeping time, is why I only give it three stars.

Great!

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

Best Served : Evening.

Really enjoyed this tea. Thought there was a chance I wouldn't like it because it mentioned mint on the package, but it wasn't overbearing and the tea itself was delicious and very smooth.

Delicate and Beautiful

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Afternoon.

The taste here is really sublime - it's one of my favorite oolongs. There are some floral notes, but nothing overpowering -- all of the flavors provide a delicate balance which I really love in the afternoon when my mind is starting to wander. It's replaced my afternoon black tea and helps bring back my focus.

Delicately floral

Likes : Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon.

The warm floral aroma was pleasant and the tea had a smooth round mouth feel. There was a delicately floral taste with a hint of honey. Very low astringency and not much of an aftertaste, perhaps just a hint of mint. A very pleasant tea but a bit too unexciting to be one of my favourites, perhaps due to the short finish.

Rustic ellegance

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

This is a bold rustic tea with a lengthy after taste. I enjoy the aroma but i find the flavour sometimes too strong. I do enjoy the tea with a little snack like a tea biscuit or two.
