Doomni Gold Summer Black Tea

A classic Assam black tea, it is strong, has good body with a malty mouthfeel. The golden tips are wonderful to see - while making the tea, the tips get coated with the juices during the rolling stage, and acquire a lovely golden color, giving the tea its name.

Fresh, full, honey with fruit.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

After the casting, it gives us a rich red to copper infusion of beautiful, noble, finely malted to chocolate, pleasantly fruity scent and a delicious, fresh, full, honey-like nugget, which develops into fruity tones.

A very high quality tea.

I considered this tea one of my favorite high quality black teas. When you look at the loose leaf when it is not steeped then you will notice the gold tips a sure sign of high quality. The flavor was also one of my favorites because it had a very smooth body.

Wonderful, strong, Assam morning tea.

Been a connoisseur of Indian tea for over 20 years. The freshness of this Assam is wonderfully evident as soon as the package is opened. The aroma immediately hits you, smells of honey and dates. Tea is malty and tastes of honey. Beautiful red color. Like all Assams, be careful not to brew to long, or it will easily become bitter and astringent.

Sweet and flavorful

Likes : Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Similar to the Doomni Special Summer Black, I enjoyed this a lot with milk. Remove the peaches and add the dates and nutmeg and it makes for a great tea. I probably liked it more than the special, but they were both good. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

Fruity and caffeinated

Definitely pick up on the Dates both in the aroma and the palate, and found it to be another smooth tea. More caffeine than some of the others, but quite enjoyed it.

A solid-bodied morning tea

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Strong, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

Assam is not my usual 'go-to' tea, but I did enjoy this. The quality was evident; it had a good 'weight' and richness to it. Some maltiness and a little sweetness. A beautiful colour that deserved a glass cup for a good view! I prefer my teas black without sweetening and I found this a little robust after the full 5 minutes, tending on bitterness. After 4 minutes' steep it made a better 'start-of-the-day' drink. The caffeine was evident even after 4 minutes (a problem for me, a boon for others!)

Dark Honey Nutmeg Assam

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Tiny, multicolored, curled-up leaves with a faint, sweet, nutty aroma. The packet suggests aroma of dates for the brewed tea, but I get more of a strong honey aroma. Not light honey; more like the dark raw kind. Almost overpowering. The palate is spicy and astringent, with hints of nutmeg and honey. Definitely high caffeine. I don't drink milk, but I think this tea would be good with it. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

A nice, balanced tea

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime.

I found this tea to be well-balanced. It wasn't overly bitter or earthy but not too mild either. The flavors were prominent but didn't taste overbearing. It's definitely what I liked with a black tea that has bold flavor without a lot going on.

A very solid breakfast tea

My two favorite Assam Summer teas this year are this lovely BOP grade from Doomni estate, and an the FOP grade tea from Halmari. I give this tea the node for a fitting my standards for a breakfast tea. It is nice and malty with a honey sweetness, has a rather thick body--even when steeped for 3 min. (I take it black usually), and has a peppery bite and medium astringency to balance things out. If brewed for 5 min, it makes milk very well.

Good Afternoon Tea

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon.

This was a tasty tea although a little on the light side for an Assam. It would make a great afternoon tea. Nice flavor .

full bodied kick-off

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

This is a nice rich and full tea, with some typical aromas. Malty, toffeey, bright redish in colour and with long-lasting aftertaste. A little bit bitter, but it fits well with its overall character. If you are looking for a heavier Assam, this might be your choice :-)

Looks as good as it tastes

Likes : Great Aroma.

This tea really looks spectacular, the mixed small light golden and dark brown broken leaves But when you finally dare to pour water over it, you will find it is a really strong and rich flavoured tea, without bitterness!
