Glendale Exotic Winter Frost Black Tea

description

Blessed with a tremendous mouthfeel, this black tea is one for the keeps. It’s an extraordinarily fragrant tea, beaming with fine flavors of white flowers, fresh herbs and nuts. There is a lusciousness to this tea that is unlike a high-grown Darjeeling tea, and that’s oh-so desirable.

a light cup of delicate tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Evening.

I found it pleasure to brew, but found the aroma delicate and difficult to place. Taste was more of the same. Hints of delicate herbal but difficult to ascertain more. Overall, too light for my likes. Possibly my senses aren't up to the task.

Subtle and Flowery Finish

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime.

This is by far the best Nilgiri that I have tried. The aroma is enticing both before and after brewing. The flavor on the palate is somewhat lacking but it is more than made up for with the subtle, flowery finish.

Wonderful aroma, just slightly lacking in body

Likes : Great Aroma, High Quality.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

This tea looks sensational, with beautiful long, thin and curled leaves that are more elegant than any other Indian tea I've seen. The positive impressions continue with the aroma of both the fresh and steeped leaves, which have headily fragrant herbal characters. The taste isn't so much a let-down, as not up to the same standard as the appearance or the smell. Once again, there are attractive herbal notes somewhere in the oregano/sage spectrum, but not a lot of development along the palate or in the finish, which is just slightly astringent. It's a very pleasant, well-made tea, but to my taste not an outstanding one. It's also very expensive. I got it on special at a 60% discount. But even at the special price, in Nilgiri winter teas I still prefer the Havukal, at full price or discounted.

A wonderfully smooth tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime.

This one looks and tastes alot like an oolong - the liquid is deep amber in color, the taste and finish are smooth with floral notes. I am usually not a big fan of Nilgiri teas but this one is definitely an exception. Great tea.

Another great Nilgiri tea

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Evening.

I generally prefer Nilgiri to Darjeeling since I find the teas more flavorful. This tea has a fantastic aroma and great flavor. Vegetal but not grassy. The finish can be a bit muted.
