Goomtee Special Spring Chinary Black Tea

description

We've featured several teas from the Goomtee estate on our website and their most defining trait is their uniqueness, as most followers of these teas will agree. This season, we have been treated to an early spring tea whose standout features are its great depth of flavor and a very bold, green character that’s the hallmark of a well-made chinary tea.

Better than your average black tea

Likes : Freshness, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Strong, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

I enjoyed a cup of this tea only a little more than I would the average cup of black tea. I don't like bitter or very strong tea, and normally put sugar or honey (and sometimes milk) in black tea to cut the bitterness. I drank this tea plain, after really enjoying drinking other teas I got in my monthly box the same way, however I found it to be a bit too bitter compared to the other ones, even after steeping it for a shorter amount of time.

A refreshing cup

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Weak.

The dried leaves emit a fresh aroma and were mostly left as intact whole leaves. The leaves gave a sweet, flowery fragrance to the tea after being steeped. Overall, it offered a satisfying experience.

Fresh, sweet aroma

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Anytime.

Makes a cup with a sweet flowery aroma that is very refreshing. Liquor is on the lighter side, definitely not a strong tea. The tea is a well balanced tea, but the flavours could be a little stronger, which would have made it the perfect cup.

A Delectable tea

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

Best Served : Anytime.

A lovely tea drinking experience! The dry tea gives off a very fresh smell of sweet floralness and mild grassiness. The leaves upon touching the hot water, effuses brisk grassiness. After about 2-3 mins, a delicate bouquet of floral and cooked fruit aroma is apparent. On the palate, the liquor is very smooth, but not without a body, ending in a mild astringency. The tea upon cooling a bit exhibits a pleasing sweetness which lingers.

Lovely Aromatic cup

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma.

i got to taste the tea from the free sample included in my purchase. The label read "Goomtee SPECIAL spring Darjeeling Chinary black" After tasting it, i was convinced that the 'SPECIAL' labeling was indeed deserved. As soon as the dry leaves are infused, it gives off a strong grassy aroma. As it infuses longer, pronounced floral notes greets the nose. The Liquor is very smooth, with a very mild yet pleasing astringency. If infused for 3-4 mins, the liquor finishes dry. However, if infused for longer (5-7 min), a mild grassy sweetness is apparent. Overall, an invigorating refreshing sensory experience..
