Red Thunder Autumn Oolong Tea

We loved the suggestion of magnolias and orchids in the flavor profile of this tea. With its delicate yet clean, sweet, floral attributes, this blended oolong is a delight to sip all day long.

Great all-around tea for colder days

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

This gorgeously colored oolong is perfect for brewing a large pot for sharing with friends since the unique and warm flavor would likely suit anyone anytime. Warm, sweets notes perfect for chilly days, especially with a warm dessert and watching the rain or snow. A new favorite for board game nights. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

Great rich flavor and the aroma was very pleasant

The oolong had a feeling of warmth and feels like it would indeed be perfect for autumn. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

More Darjeeling than Oolong

Likes : High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

I adore Oolongs and autumn flush teas, so this tea intrigued me. I had never had a Darjeeling oolong. Being an oolong lover, I was disappointed to find it resonated to my tastebuds as an unusual Autumn Darjeeling. In part this is because it has a Darjeeling astringency rather than the buttery oolong mouthfeel. All this being said, it is an excellent loose leaf tea. I was probably being a little tough on it giving it 3-stars because of my oolong bias. It was not a 5-star but I would have given it a half more if the rating system had allowed me to be more particular.

Delicious!

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

The leaves retain great aroma, and the taste is discreeetly sweet, reminding me of raisins, without adstringency. A great drink throughout the day. Can be paired with light dry foods, or dried fruits and nut, but for me it is too fragrant and light in itself to be enhanced by the addition of milk or sweeteners.

Red Thunder Autumn Oolong

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

I really enjoyed the spice combination within this tea, and the aroma was pleasant. The only problem I had with it was the bitterness when it was over-steeped. Very nice oolong! Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

Red thunder is a very beatifull tea - the leaves are from dark dark brown to red. It really looks like a little thunders lightning! The taste is also great: deep , smooth and rich. One of my faves.

A Flavor Explosion

Likes : High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime.

This one is a flavor explosion: tobacco (the top, and best note), prune, and a sweet undertone of candied guava fruit. Hope next year's lot will be as good as this one!

Very enjoyable

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

I enjoyed this tea immensely. I brewed it the Chinese way and found the tea to have a sweet malt texture with a peach undertone. When I brewed this tea I did not taste any tobacco which I was grateful for and enjoyed the unique flavour. I also liked that this tea unlike other oolongs was low in caffeine so that I could drink it at any time which is always a plus.

Very enjoyable

I've never had a Darjeeling Oolong before, and I enjoyed it a lot. It has a nice malty taste to it, and an astringency that you don't get in Chinese or Taiwanese Oolongs.

Interesting

I've never had a Darjeeling Oolong before. It has a great malty taste, but I don't think I would've been able to tell it was an oolong if I hadn't known it. Still, it was very pleasant and refreshing and I would recommend it, especially as a morning beverage.

Good allround tea.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Strong aroma tobacco, ripe fruits (not the acidity of not quite ripe fruits) and rose hibs. Colour deep amber or copper. Taste quite strong, some astringency. For me tobacco is the most prominent, but also some malt and a touch of something sweet like honey. I find the finish quite strong. The same tastes as the original taste, but more pronounced. Rose hibs comes back as well. All in all a good tea, but not one I am likely to order again, as Teabox have so many great teas I appreciate more, and I usually prefer first flush.

Mild, malty and comforting

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

This Oolong brews into an intense copper color liquor. The leaves are dark and feature woody yet clean and fresh aroma with undertones of apricots and peaches. This is a perfect beverage for long autumn evenings as it's mild, comforting and doesn't have any bitterness as all.

Excellent Dark Oolong

Likes : High Quality.

Dislikes : Strong.

Best Served : Evening.

This was my first indian Oolong tea. I used to live in Japan and most of the oolong I had was cold out of a vending machine, this though is very nice and dark. The flavour is very rich although it does taste more like a black tea than the oolongs I had in Japan. Worth trying

Excellent fruity Oolong

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime, Morning, Afternoon, Dessert Tea.

An excellent Oolong leaves quite dark reddish brown, and brews into a dark coppery red liquor with the strong aroma of Autumn fruits, with dried apricots and raisins, feels rich and full to the tongue with a mild brisk dryness and no bitterness, and a short pleasant finish.

Tea for an autumn evening

Likes : Unique Flavor Profile.

This tea is redolent of peaches, both in aroma and taste. it is enjoyably smooth with a long smooth aftertaste and no discernible bitterness. As I sip I think of long autumn walks with the leaves crunching underneath. . .

A very nice afternoon tea

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Afternoon.

The nose is mellow and the finish is long, smooth and fresh. I found the floral notes to be the most pronounced in this Oolong. There are no extremes flavour-wise in this tea which is a good thing. The liquid is a deep amber in color. This tea is quite strong - I managed to get 3 cups from one teaspoon of leaves and the last cup was every bit as delicious as the first. I would recommend waiting for the tea to cool a bit before drinking - that way the different flavour nuances stand out better. All in all a wonderful tea for enjoying in the afternoon.

Wonderful Oolong

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening, Dessert Tea.

This Oolong tea is unlike any other that I've had. I typically cherish the Formosan oolongs, but this has captured my imagination. It is full of flavor, but one that really stood out to me was an almost graham cracker/cookie type of mellowness that is most notable in the middle of the taste and lingering toward the finish. It is most certainly not what I expected out of a Darjeeling or an Oolong, but it was very well appreciated.

Refined and elegant

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

An amazing experience with a complex and unique flavour profile. Soft, mellow and deep. The bright, radiant colour is worth a mention as well. As you sip you will discover layer upon layer. Leave it to cool a little. I found drinking it too hot affects what one is able to taste and the nuances are lost. This is the perfect night time tea. Another favourite tea which I will reorder soon.
