A Lighter tea, acuratly described

Likes : Unique Flavor Profile.

In its dry state, the tea is leafy and has a green color. After steeping, it is a light honey color, which is not surprising as the tea's description states "rose and honey" I usually have to add honey to most teas to cut bitterness, but as this one is light with a slight taste of honey, I did not have to add more. A good tea. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

Good aroma and taste, slightly bitter if left alone but does have a very good relationship with cream and sugar (with in reason). I am more apt to add cream and sugar to darker blacks, or more flavorful steeps that might feel overpowering alone after half a cup.

My favorite from the box

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Strong.

I love black teas they are my favorite and my go to drink. This one is fantastic I love the golden color and the smell is just refreshing. I can never drink black tea by itself though. I had to sweeten it just a tiny bit just to cut the bitterness before you swallow.

Interesting Black

Likes : Freshness, Unique Flavor Profile.

Very interesting black tea. Dry leaves smell like seaweed. Aroma is fainter when steeped. After steeping, leaves look greenish. Seems more like a green tea to me, since I'm used to the strong, dark, English breakfast blends when I usually drink black tea. This tea has a grassy, spicy, veggie palette.

good tea but a little bland considering

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : No Flavor, Weak.

It's a good tea but a little weak in taste. Still, it's good compared to other black teas

I loved the slight honey and citrus profiles in this tea. It's great for drinking at any occasion or any time of the day.

Mellow with a slight kick

Likes : Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : No Flavor.

Best Served : Afternoon.

There was a dark honey aroma which followed through in the taste. There was a kick of citrus astringency in the flavour which became more pronounced at the finish and maybe a dash of chili at the very end. Very nice but my heart belongs to the sweeter Castleton Spring Darjeeling Chinary.

The perfect any time tea.

A beautiful amber colour and wonderful exotic aroma. An elegant balance of flavour, not too bold, not too tannic. It has a nice gentle lingering after taste. I could drink this all day.

Smooth, light afternoon tea.

I've never loved Darjeeling tea because it's always been too weak for my tastes, but there's enough flavour in this Jungpana that it managed to keep me very interested. Sweet, bright and happy, good for an afternoon reading session.

An interesting flavor/texture

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Anytime, Dessert Tea.

When I first Chinary black, I was expecting a rather strong, black tea. But maybe it was my flawed steeping, the tea was very light. I could hardly see any color to the tea apart from a slight tinge. When I tasted, it felt like typical chinese jasmine tea. Good for casual sipping for the refreshing aroma and smell, apart from that I couldn't see any other way I could consume this. I definitely didn't look like something I could try with milk or lemon.

Not quite my cuppa

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Strong, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

I'll try this again, but my first impression was something of a bitter, muddy flavor, so I may not have steeped it properly.

Great tea experience!

Flavor: subtle flowery notes, black rice, date, dried mango, and slight hint of pepper. Taste: Very sweet umami with ginger feel, chrysanthemum-like and flowery aftertaste. Overall, astonishing black tea giving a calm and meditative experience. Want to buy more!

Interesting Black Tea

Tastes like a cross between a green tea and black tea and is very, very good on it's own. I taste a little bit of the citrus and the green chili flavor is definitely there. I'm interested to try brewing it at a lower temperature to see what other flavors come out.

One of Darjeeling's best!

Likes : Freshness.

All of the teas that I had experienced from the Jungpana region have been superb, but I think this one is the best. I am not sure what 'Chinary' means exactly, but I think it may have something to do with the history of the plant and its relationship to China. I can somewhat taste a Chinese influence on the flavor of this tea. I think that this is what makes this tea very unique and something that I thoroughly enjoy. I will be hopefully trying this again soon.

Another great Darjeeling!

This is a great tea! Depending on your preferences, drink either plain or with a little sugar. Accidentally added milk to it once, never again. It had a strange taste.

Great anytime tea

This is a great tea for anytime of the day. You can add milk, but it is just as good without. The only thing I added was a bit of rock sugar.

Great tea. Strong and fruity. Quite green for a black one. I prefer less time and lees temp. than recomended. Fantastic citrus aroma. Love it. Good for strong tea lovers

Harmony in a cup.

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime, Evening, Dessert Tea.

A really good first flush, well balanced with fruity, flora and citrus notes, the dry leaves have a savory note which is lost in the brew, the liquor is a gorgeous golden amber, and the taste is a fully balanced experience with a deep complexity, and pleasant dry bite, warning do not brew above the recommended temp (185-190F)

Very nice

Very aromatic with noticeable stone fruit fragrances. Brews a very pleasant vegetal base with the expected stone fruit nuances present. I did not detect the expected floral notes, but found the tea to be delicious. I agree with the above notes on avoiding the higher steeping temperatures leeching a bit much tannins.
