Jungpana Special Spring Darjeeling Oolong

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

This tea looked incredible, and smelled even better. The fruity aroma was great. The flavor was nice as well, but I had hoped for a little more sweetness. Also, the tea was significantly better at the peak of heat. Once it started to cool off it grew more and more bitter.

This was my favorite out of the Darjeeling varieties I received. I enjoyed it's sweet aroma and floral/melon undertones.

Lovely tea, deceivingly strong in flavor.

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

A stronger oolong, in my opinion, but not comparable to darker teas that get intensely bitter the longer you steep. However, I was surprised at the amount of flavor going in from the first sip to the last, be it almost 200 degrees and just steeped, or much cooler and almost iced. (be it by choice or just taking your time, I brewed hotter in spite of suggestions and was not affected by this choice, although I did try the recommendations after the fact). Nutty, with an almost fruit like aftertaste. I enjoyed this one the most between my first three samples and would buy again in larger amounts. Drank by it self primarily but threw myself a tea party with cream and sugar later, it is better enjoyed by itself.

Great for All Day

This is my first Oolong tea and I really enjoyed the crisp taste. It is a bit bitter if over-steeped (I re-steep throughout the day). Other than that, it was great.

Unexpected surprise

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma.

I honestly have not tried too many Oolong teas in the past. This one is quite nice. Easy to drink and not bitter at all. Paired well with some fresh baked snickerdoodle cookies. I will definitely enjoy drinking this tea and may have to order more.

Great Oolong to read with

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Excellent oolong never tried an Indian oolong since I mainly drink Chinese oolongs, but this is taste half way between an Iron Goddess and a Phonenix its is really subdued and sublime the dry leaves smell of dried flowers and stone fruits mainly apricots. It brews into a clear pale golden liquor which smells of stewed warm fruits soaked with a hint of Speyside Single Malt and taste sublime with I lingering sweet after taste. The 2nd infusion was better than the first.

This a lovely light afternoon tea. Definitely sweet and I am no tea expert but I am sure I can detect a violet note. New to oolongs and I really enjoyed this one.

What you expect from a Jungpana Oolong

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Take the signature taste from Jungpana, and add some chamomille Oolong notes, and you more or less have this tea. Aroma quite typical Jungpana. Citrus, fruity and sweet honey. Full, wonderful taste of signature Jungpana, but with some extra chamomille. The finish includes more of the chamomille, honey and citrus, giving a great long lasting mouth feeling. One of the very best teas I have tasted. Maybe only bested by the black clonal from Jungpana.

Outstanding

1st infusion: 190 deg F (88 C), 2 g per 180 ml, 3.75 min 2nd infusion: 4.5 min This tea matched its description. It was fragrant with appealing floral and vegetal notes. I could taste fresh greens on top of the spring-like floral background. I think this tea is a winner in every way. This is one of my favorites from Teabox.

This is a very nice mellow tea. the second cup is better than the first. Maybe a tiny bit disappointed, seeing it comes from Jungpana, I expected just a bit more sweetness. lovely, though.

Good tasting typical oolong

Likes : Freshness.

This oolong is a very good "plain" oolong if you just want a traditional type taste. Leaves were fresh with a loose twist and some green and brown coloration. Steeped as recommended, the tea is a golden color and has a mild flavor profile that works nice with light sweetening. I never cared much for oolong the first one i had was a bad experience, but this changed my perspective on oolong teas. I found the flavor to be consistent it didn't fade. Only had to add a little sugar it was quite tasteful on its own. I didn't have any trouble with it getting bitter when I over steeped it. The aroma is amazing before and after brewing. I even got to try it with danish butter cookies that made it even more perfect.

Worth Taking Notice

Likes : Great Aroma, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime.

This particular tea is very agreeable. For those who like to add milk, I would suggesting doing so with just a drop or two as any more would be too much. Makes me perk right up. Very nice offering, well bodied, but still soft and round, delicately spicy with a hint of pleasant bitterness. Also, it is compatible with a slice of lemon in my experience. The flavor is slightly sharp and very fresh with a hint of orange peel, kind of like fresh bok choy or, in a strange kind of way, ripe langsat fruit. I will most definitely buy again. This is one for the relish I would say, if not one for the keep.

Smells really nice. Definitely feels like Spring. Tastes a bit sweet. I don't think I usually care for oolong but this one is really pleasant.
