Jungpana Special Summer Chinary Black Tea

description

With its layered flavor profile and multiple textural components, this tea is easily one of the most vibrant and complex teas we've tried this season. However, like most teas from the Jungpana estate, it has a noticeable amount of restraint that sort of reins in all the different aromatic compounds that can, otherwise, feel at odds.

liquor

aroma

Pink rose in the attack followed by hints of honey and stewed fruit

taste

The liquor is slightly tart around the edges but mostly mellow, medium-bodied and smooth. It starts out on a clean and crisp citrus-like note but turns dark, slightly woody and aromatic towards the middle, suggesting the presence of notes that are similar to a fresh plum, licorice, and holy basil. These attributes fade away quickly and the liquor finishes on a mellow note of melon rind.

a drop of honey goes a long way

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

Best Served : Morning.

I saw this tea featured on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's Tea4Tuesday and had to try it out. It's got an oak-y aroma and mellow flavor.

unusually powerful darjeeling

Best Served : Morning.

This is on the intense side, not so much flowery as hearty, "even you're coming with me." The lower brewing temperature recommended brings out more nuance.

Amazing flavor!!!

Likes : Unique Flavor Profile.

This tea is wonderful. It has everything that I am looking for in a Black tea. It smells like fresh cut grass, has an amazing crimson liquor that it produces and gives me the energy that I need to make it through long work days. When I tell people that I am in love with tea from Darjeeling, India, this is the tea that I am secrt has such a unique flavor.
