Kanyam Classic Spring Black Tea

description

Spring teas from Nepal are typically assertive and increasingly brisk. But, this pick from Kanyam tea estate surprised us with its lovely fluid flavors. It tastes fresh, bright, and flows with a restraint that’s quite enjoyable.

Incense of dark golden color and sweet herbal aroma. Gentle, spicy flavor.

Excellent Nepalese high mountain tea from the spring harvest. A darker green, medium-long, high-quality sheet with a noticeable amount of tips. Incense of dark golden color and sweet herbal aroma. Gentle, spicy flavor.

Uncharacteristic black tea

Likes : Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Weak, Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime.

This black tea doesn't taste like you'd expect a black tea to taste. It's a bit weaker, and has almost green tea palette. The leaves are broken, and the tea can get bitter relatively quickly. Overall, however, it makes for a very pleasant experience, and would satisfy any kind of a crowd.

Subtle Beauty

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

Best Served : Anytime, Afternoon.

This is a sweet, delicate, low astringency tea. Superb quality for the price. The dry leaves are bluish green and redolent of tropical flowers and vanilla. Brews to a pale golden color. Maybe the flavor is less complex than some of the more floral and expensive first flush Darjeelings, but this tea's understated baby sweet pea flavor is not to be missed.

I bought three kinds of tea this time. The tea from kanyam is the fist one I taste. I believed it's definitely a right choice when i opened the packaged and smelled the aroma of dry tea. Tasting like the blooming flowers and the water is sweet without any bitter flavor.

Amazing

Excellent, fruity and floral, great taste that reminds a spring darjeeling. Light soup for a black tea yet powerful natural scent. I love it.

Light and refreshing

A tea one looks forward to drinking, again and again. Light, aromatic, fruity. Leave a few sips in the cup for later and drink it cold, it's even better! Towards the end of the pack though, I found the flavour beginning to flag a bit.

Truly Delicious

This is a delicious first flush tea from Nepal. The dried leaves smell like grassy coriander, and there are quite a few lighter, silvery tips included. The liquor brews golden green with a short steep, and the taste is slightly fruity and very, very smooth. One of my favorites from Nepal so far..

Excellent and clean! Great added to a blend.

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

A lovely and light tea, a bit of astringency as others have noted. I've blended with some Assam and Keemun, this adds that little "extra"!

Tastes Very fresh and Green

Likes : Freshness.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon.

A very pleasant Spring tea, which can survive a long stew in the teapot. It tastes very green and spring like. I don't think milk particularly improves it but a nice fresh cuppa.

Great value for money

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

This tea is a great example of the upcoming high-quality, Darjeeling-like teas from Nepal. Not your absolute best of its kind, it is still a great value for money and a good introduction to Nepalese first flush teas. Very mellow overall, this Spring flush has vegetal and spicy notes, a hint of stone fruit, and a slightly astringent finish.

Delightfully clean and bright

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Afternoon.

This tea has the perfect balance of astringency that one desires from a first flush Nepalese or Darjeeling tea. Up front are hints of grape and slightly nutty with bright and clean finish. Very smooth. Brew for 3 minutes to avoid excessive tannins.
