Liza Hill Special Summer Black Tea

description

Delightfully fruity and floral, this summer black tea from Liza Hill sure brings back the memory of spring.
Indulgent flavors of strawberry and rose can be relished in the aroma as well as the taste of the brew. Hints of watermelon and lily progressively come through as you take a hearty sip, thus enhancing the fruity-floral quality of the tea. It is pleasantly sweet, full-bodied and just the right amount of astringent to render a highly satiating palate experience.

This was one of my favorites

Most of the teas, I am quick to share, but I found myself saving this one for special people and times when I really savored it. It has just the right mixture of strength and smoothness. I was also happy to see that it's organic. I like variety, but this one is worth having often.

smooth and slightly fruity

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

There is certainly a subtle fruity finish to the Liza Hill summer black, very much a darjeeling tea, strong on the high notes. A pleasant one to accompany your afternoon.

Found this to be quite smooth, and enjoyable throughout the day. Lovely looking tea leaves, and you do indeed get a hint of strawberry on the palate. Enjoy :)

Excelent

So far this is my favorite tea from Teabox. It is very smooth. The aroma is great, and the background fruity flavors add to the taste of the tea instead of distracting from it (which is so common in flavored teas). The packaging says to add Honey, but I think that is not necessary for this one.

A good all-rounder

I was quite curious about this tea and was not disappointed. Its a lovely all-rounder which due to its lightness could be enjoyed all day. I would say its a fairly straight forward tea with some fruity characters and a lovely balance.

Smooth and Satisfying Second Flush

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Afternoon.

The first interesting thing to note about this Liza Hill Organic Second Flush is that the coloring of the dried leaves covers a broad range of shades--up to and including white! The flavor of the peachy-amber brewed liquor is very good--classic second flush, with more of a nutty, unsweetened caramel flavor (not like Golden Monkey, of course--I mean relative to darjeelings!). I really enjoyed this glass and am happy that this is an organic offering. It's a bit pricey, but probably worth it given the virtues of this tea.

A most refreshing cup.

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, High Quality.

This tea has a full Darjeeling muscatel character and is not too strong, being a Summer flush. It has none of the "leafiness" of the Spring flushes which are not so much to my taste. An excellent cup to energize the remains of your day.

Not My Taste, Better Cold Than Hot

Likes : Freshness, High Quality.

Best Served : Afternoon.

It is certainly a visually striking tea. The vibrant red dry leaves had a nice scent to them, and as they unfurled during steeping they were large and intact. The tea itself had a nice 'golden' taste early on, a bit of astringency, then that was followed by a leathery and dry taste. There are some chocolate notes as the tea cools. I chilled a bit of it, and the result was that the tea shifted and became more winey, almost like a Chinese Keemun, but with a hint of classic Indian Darjeeling flavor. Still, the leatheriness and dryness when hot bothered me, and I initially thought perhaps the four minute steep time was too long. When I tried two fresh batches of leaves at two and three minutes, there was basically no flavor, so four was correct. As a result it seems if you want this tea hot, leathery and dry are features of the tea, not symptoms of mis-steeping. I didn't particularly like those flavor notes and will basically just use this as an iced tea to avoid them.
