I enjoyed this tea - quite subtle but not too weak. An enjoyable cuppa!

A Darjeeling full of surprises

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

I did not expect a taste like this from a "normal" black Darjeeling. Aroma not very flowery or fruity, but with a complex mixture of notes, for instance fennel and rose hibs. Maybe some of the claimed coriander in the tasting notes as well. Taste of coriander (giving some spicyness), rose hibs and some fruity notes. Finish long and pleasant. Still rose hibs and spices. A little astringency. Stronger more "musky" taste than I am used to in Darjeelings, but delightful all the same.

Good everyday cuppa

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime.

I agree with other reviews. Nice strength and astringency. Get the water off the leaves at 2mins and you have a very good Darjeeling for the price. As others have said lacks complexity in the flavour and due to this I would probably buy other more interesting darjeeling from teabox.

More flavor than the color suggests

Likes : Freshness, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime.

The first cup I brewed of this "looked" weak, but the first sip proved that wrong. The aroma is very mild and reminded me of chicken broth (of all things) the first time I smelled it. But this is a nice tea that can get away from you pretty quickly if you don't pay attention. I've dialed my kettle down to 200 degrees (F) which seems to tame it a little while never, ever, over-steeping. More bitter than I usually prefer but with some brewing tweaks, I've been able to make it work.

Good morning tea

Likes : Freshness.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

This wasn't quite my favorite tea. However, it was still good. I like it with a little honey to add sweetness. But I wouldn't add too much more than that. Don't over steep!

Excellent First Flush, Some Muscatel

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime.

This tea is high both in first flush astringency and winey grape muscatel flavor. It gets bitter at over two minutes despite the recommendations on the website and pouch. When prepared properly there is also a slight sweetness to it. A very very good tea, just watch the time carefully!

A good flegrance tea.

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime, Afternoon, Evening, Dessert Tea.

Rating 4/5 is compaired with 2014 Upper Namring Exotic black. In terms of taste or flegrance, weeker than 2014 Upper Namring Exotic black, but even a good tea. Taste; flesh and light astringent. Flegrance; a good flowerly. a good fragrance. Not overwhelming fragrance as Castleton's Moonlight or 2014 Upper Namring Exotic black, but enough fragrance.
