Namring Special Autumn White Tea

description

Hailing from one of the oldest gardens in Darjeeling, this white tea lives up to the credibility naturally associated with Namring estate. It produces a cup that is bright, clean and signs the senses with the most indulgent flavor of white rose and lime. While delicate in body, the flavors are a touch to slick to be dubbed conventional.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime, Morning, Afternoon.

It's a very delicate tea and the during the brewing process, the white hairs on the tea disappear and becomes like a fresh leaf. It really makes the day Perfect! But don't steep for a longer time! It has a unique flavor, but it's really pleasing and peaceful. I received it as a Gift.

Exotic and delicious

Likes : Smooth Body.

Best Served : Anytime.

This tea is covered with delicate white hairs the disappear during the brewing process. The leaves have no discernible scent before brewing, but during the steeping process it transforms into a brew with an almost fruity aroma that is very pleasing. It has a very unique flavor that is somewhat similar to grapes or other fruits. The body is very smooth and you can easily see by the color of the finished cup that it is of very high quality. I caution against steeping this tea for too long as it easily turn bitter.

Delicate but unique flavour

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

Dry leaf is silvery grey, covered with downy hairs and very fluffy. Whole and broken leaf that hasn’t been twisted or rolled, lots of small leafsets of two leaves and a bud. Dry leaf has barely any smell, just a hint of fruitiness. I measured out 3g, which overflowed my 1oz tea cups. Steeped in 85C water for 5min. Steeped leaf is yellow green and has less volume than when dry. Faint sweet fragrance. Liquor is honey coloured, clear. Almost no fragrance, but delicate notes of honey, brown sugar and maybe summer squash – something almost fruity but without a lot of its own sweetness. Very mild, with a fairly long finish that’s slightly tangy and is reminiscent of fennel bulb. Medium body, quite smooth. Better as it cools. A very interesting tea. I wish for a little more flavour from it, but it’s still quite enjoyable.
