North Tukvar Special Summer Darjeeling Black Tea

description

An impressive alternative to high caffeine brews, this black tea offers a stimulating sensory experience.
While the dry leaves have a pleasant woody warmth, the infusion and liquor offer far more aromatic gradients to savor. With the liquor, the nose is treated to sweet honey-like perfume which offers a mellow prelude to the more solemn tasting liquor. Notes of honey and hints of almond can be relished in every sip, making it the perfect pick to energize yourself in the afternoons.

Average black tea with above average Caffeine content.

Likes : Freshness.

Best Served : Morning.

This tea is just ok. It is very fresh and you can see that the leaves have a somewhat ok aroma, but when I brewed the tea, it was very bitter so that is why I have to give it only three stars. The tea did have a good amount of caffeine, which is nice, but was underwhelming overall. I may give you another try and not brew it so long.

A most cuddly tea!

This the first tea out of the three comprised in the Enthusiast box. Leaves are chocolate brown, rich with many hues and more the longer you look at them. They smell of cocoa and warm wood, dry pine leaves on a hot summer day. The reddish gold colour of the infusion (4min, 85°C, low-mineral water) yields a perfect balance of roasted almond, dark chocolate and a slight undertone of fresh hay. It wouldn't be my go-to answer for sleepy tastebuds in the morning, but definitely a wise choice anytime in the afternoon, with or without biscuits.
