Oaks Special Spring Chinary Black Tea

description

This season’s black tea from Oaks estate is a well-crafted Darjeeling. Like most seed-grown chinary teas of the season, it tastes ‘green’ but feels softer, earthier, and gentler on the palate. Perfect for fans of light teas.

This gives an intense brew, lovely aromas and great freshness in taste. I have started to see that I like teas with the label of white flowers, whatever that means :-). Highly recommend this tea for those like me who like the type of FF with the lovely dryness.

A fuller-bodied first-flush Darjeeling

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

Thank you Teabox and the Oaks Estate for another lovely Darjeeling! The main feature of this Spring black for me are the body; it has more 'presence' than many... almost like a concentrated first-flush! This applies to the aroma too. Definately getting the tree fruit, not so much of the citrus. The Teabox description uses the word 'hearty' which, for me at any rate, summons images of weight... but this is still a light, slightly brisk and very refreshing tea. Unlike some Spring Darjeelings, you can happily munch on a biscuit (cookie) without losing the taste of the tea! I detect a higher caffeine than 'medium' suggests. Don't bother with a second steep; it's not awful but does not compare with the first at all. (Drunk plain)

This one has quite a floral note to it throughout, I didn't get strong citrus flavors when I sampled this one. But it was overall quite pleasant!
