Regent Breakfast Tea

description

If it’s a strong Assam tea you are looking for, this is the tea for you. Beaming with hallmark Assam black tea characteristics, this high-caffeine breakfast tea is just what you need to kick start a morning. Look for robust notes of malt, dates and honey in the brew. A hit of astringency cuts through the liquor richness, leaving behind a strong and lasting malty finish on the palate. The flavors are brisk, lend strength to the brew, and accommodate the addition of milk perfectly.

A gentler breakfast tea

Likes : Freshness, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning.

Earthy rather than sweet, malty rather than dates/plums. Tastes like a blend of the Assam base notes with some Darjeeling high notes. A perfectly respectable brisk cup to enjoy with milk of a morning.

Everything an Assam should be!

Likes : Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

Regent Breakfast is described as having an aroma of dates, malt, and tangy. On the palate, it should show dates, malt, and honey. I didn't get most of that; but it is definitely a strong, malty Assam. It smelled like date syrup just after brewing. It has a thick, powdery, astringent mouthfeel. It stands up very well to a dollop of half and half or milk, and probably would take sweetener well. If you like a good, malty Assam for a reasonable price, this is the one!
