Darjeeling Special Spring Flowery Black Tea

description

Made from top Darjeeling spring clonals, the flavors in this tippy blend are incredibly fragrant, big and juicy. These characteristics become more evident when the leaves are steeped in water that’s just warm, and allowing the liquor some time to rest. It's clearly one of our favorite blends of the season.

taste

The liquor beams with bright citrus-floral flavors. Notes of citrus blossom, similar to magnolia, emerge in the middle while notes of tree fruit make a brief appearance towards the end. The liquor is well-balanced, rounded and yields clean, floral mouthfeel.

Teabox sent me a free sample of this tea. It has a wonderful flowery aroma and flavor. The description for this tea correctly identifies it to be that of Marigold. The aroma is not overwhelming and very enjoyable. The dry leaves and the infusion reminds me of high quality Darjeeling Oolong teas. This tea is somewhat expensive but its quality justifies the price.

My experience so far with Teabox has been that when they put their own brand in the name of a tea, you will not be disappointed. Teabox Exotic Spring Darjeeling Flowery Black is no exception to this rule. The dry leaves are large with a beautiful bluish aquamarine tint, and a sweet citrusy aroma. The liquor is light orange in color. The tea is full bodied and pleasingly smooth. The flowery quality is delicate and subtle, with a fresh, springlike flavor. I had the best results with this tea by steeping a generous amount of tea, for slightly less than the recommended 5 minutes. And you can definitely get more than a single pouring from this tea.
