Darjeeling Ruby Tea

description

A flavorful Darjeeling blend for those who prefer a light summer flush tea. This one offers a wonderful fragrance of rose that makes it very pleasant. Light, aromatic and with welcome flavors of citrus and lavender, it captures the fruity-floral attributes that we associate with Darjeeling.

If darjeeling teas are Champagnes... then this is the Dom Perignon. It is by far the best tasting tea I have had and I have had a lot...

Well, add milk to bring out rose taste

Likes : Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime, Dessert Tea.

I normally order and forget about the teas... I looked at invoice and it said only a third listed here... And since I order whites and greens and blacks... I was thinking it must be white tea :) so initially I was sad looking at black like color... And with water it was woody bitterish. And I thought that adding a dash of milk should eliminate little bitterness. So I went against the recommendation and added milk. Wow.!!! Simply the best milked tea I ever had. Rose clearly stands out and bit of complexity. I like to drink tea many time so low caffeine is welcome bonus.

Fragrant, delicate, complex, smooth and well balanced. Fruity, slightly acidic and noticably sweet. A delight to drink!

Like drinking a fine wine

Normally I don't like blended teas -- but that just goes to show how one should never make blanket statements. The Darjeeling Ruby is a fabulous tea. My first taste of it was startling. As I wrote in the Review Summary, my reaction was that this had all the flavor and complexity of a fine red wine. I have never had this reaction before. I was using a small sample from my monthly subscription, but each time I drank it I enjoyed it so much that I have ordered 100 g. of it for that special afternoon cup of tea. Like all of the best teas, this is not one to be casual about. Brew it carefully with the water at the suggested temperatures. My only difference would be to shorten the brewing time and increase the amount of tea per cup. I find that I enjoy a fuller flavor that way without bitterness. I brew my teas the Chinese way, in a small teapot just big enough for the number of cups I will pour for each steeping and then I can re-steep the tea several times at a sitting. Each time it was a delight. Try it!

Great aroma and taste and low caffeine

I was surprised by this tea. Low caffeine varieties are often less flavourfull and less smooth. But this one is deffinetely not. The aroma is delicious! The taste is deep and strong. And you can drink it in the evening and then sleep good ;)

A Delightful Tea

Likes : Great Aroma.

Best Served : Afternoon.

I received a 10g sample packet of this tea in the order which I placed on 7 January, 2016. I have recently made and sampled several cups from that sample packet, and discovered an extremely floral and fruity tea. In the cup it presented pleasant citrusy notes with some sweet undertones along with a nice lingering astringency in the finish. I would say that overall, it had a sweet, floral aroma with hints of pineapple and fresh apricot, along with some bright flavor notes of citrus zest and flowers.

Highly fragrant yet delicate

I received this tea as a free sample. The dry tea had a pleasant rose like smell. I wondered if had been blended with rose petals, but found out to be not the case. Upon, steeping, it gave out fragrances reminiscent of roses and ripe stone fruits. The liquor had a lovely peach like colour and tasted very 'clean', without marked astringency. But the best part was the crisp scent of roses, more akin to fresh ones than that of dried ones, followed by subtle stone fruit notes. Since both the scenes are sweet, the notes of roses predominate. The tea developed a subtle sweetens when rested, enhancing the drinking experience!
