Wah Classic Spring Green Tea

description

This green tea caught us by surprise. Its aroma is so intensely pyrogenic you half expect the taste to be just so. But a sip quickly reveals flavors that are mellow and incredibly easy on the senses.

interesting

I enjoy green teas, but I prefer oolongs. This tea, however, has a complexity that I don't normally find in green teas. The smoky aroma and taste has a hint of lapsang souchong. The taste and smell align. The descriptive notes for aroma and palate describe it perfectly... charred greens, tobacco, burnt wood.

Unique smokiness!

I quite enjoy smoky teas and have had several, but none feel like this one. The flavor profile is very unique and bold, but the freshness of the green tea isn't lost.

Very nice and smooth green tea. Not too grassy taste and makes lovely drink even for those who usually do not like green teas so much.

Smooth with good aroma

This tea has a good aroma and is smooth. I am not a big green tea fan but this is probably the best one I have ever had. I in general find green teas too weak .

The Directions on this Tea is all wrong

It says 5 minutes on the packet but green tea only needs 2 minutes max to have a strong flavor. So the result the first time I made was very Bitter. After cooking properly i really love the flavor and smoothness of green tea.

My favorite!

I could drink this tea ever morning! Pleasant aroma. Smooth flavor. No need to add sweetener or other flavors. I did use more tea than recommended because I like my tea a little stronger. Reviewed as part of theTeabox subscription program.

I liked the Wah Classic Spring Green. It gave a really natural tea taste. It tasted really fresh and very good as a morning tea to start your day off. The dry leaf smell gave me pure morning spring. Reviewed as part of the Teabox subscription program.

Nice but strong

Likes : Great Aroma, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

This tea is a strong and very unique kind of tea. Very nice for in the mornings Smell: - Very subtle and has a hint of licorice. I'm a licorice lover but for people who dislike licorice i would skip it. Taste: - Very very very strong taste. I wouldn't throw this down my neck because this is a delicate one. I would recommend to just let it sit in your mouth because otherwise it's very bitter. It's very nice undescribeable taste with a aftertaste o f licorice :). Tips: - Add honey though. Otherwise it's very bitter. Dont add sugar though. - Dont oversteep.

I love green tea, and this tea is very fresh tasting. The leaf itself looks nice and I added a bit of honey to it to make it perfect imo

Refreshing

Making my way through the entire green tea selection, this is currently my favourite. Very refreshing. Fruitier than most, detectable citrus. Light but not weak. Doesn't tend towards bitterness. Can drink all day long.

Being a regular green tea drinker I like a good strong smokey green tea without too much bitterness. This is beautiful. obviously if it is preferred weaker you can simply add less tea leaves and make the tea go further. Very nice!

Fresh Tea at its best!

Best Served : Morning.

I like this tea because it is never bitter anf very vegetal in flavor. I drink it in the morning and it is the perfect pick-me-up first thing in the day. I also like how fresh this tea tastes. It is very refreshing and has a great aroma.

Great smooth tea with a simple profile

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Anytime, Afternoon, Evening.

This was my 'go to' green tea when I was tired of ‘tasting’ or just wanted a simple cup of tea to go with a meal. Today I must have had my tasting hat on because I finally discovered and appreciate its smooth and complete mouthful, warmth and lack of bitterness and subtle sweet honey notes. It’s a great tea to enjoy in the afternoon or at any time of the day. The only reason I’m not giving it the full 5 stars is that I want to reserve the highest rating for the teas with more unique profiles.

Very fresh, light green tea. Not too powerful flavor, holds up well to a few good steepings.

Good but unremarkable

Likes : High Quality.

Dislikes : Weak.

Tea leaf dry was good quality. Grassy and light tobacco notes in the dry nose. Steeping aromas produced a marked cooked green vegetable aroma dominating which presented itself in the brewed cup as a mild green vegetal flavor with mild tannic astringency. No detectable fruit or floral notes detectable in either of the first to packages opened. A 'good' tea, mild and balanced but not exceptional.

Not what I expected

Likes : Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

I can't say I liked this tea, but then, I am used to drinking Japanese greens, which are very different. That being said, once I used my own parameters to brew, I found things that I liked about it and could see why others might enjoy it. First, I suggest brewing at 170F (75 C) for 3 minutes. It was always too bitter and seemed slightly "over-cooked" using their parameters. It has a nice smokey aroma, and a slight honey taste at the back of the throat.

One of my favourite teas

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

I have to admit that this is one of my favourite new teas from the beginners collection. The balance is unique and I have never tasted grassy, fruity notes like this in any other green tea before. One reviewer talked about perfect acidity and I agree. I find this tea particularly enjoyable for breakfast or late afternoon when you need a lift.

Quite Smokey

Likes : Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Afternoon.

This tea is well-described by Tea Box. A couple of things are worth noting. None of the other reviews mention that this is a pan fired tea and it has a smokey/charred flavor. This flavor is not as over-powering as it is in the case of the Woodland Green Tea. But it is among the most dominant flavors of this tea. (I don't have a great deal of experience with green tea processed in this way, so it may be that my palate is not yet able to discern the other flavors through the smokey foreground.) The tea leaves themselves are almost black. Many of the Darjeeling teas that Tea Box classifies as "black tea" are almost green, but this Wah Tea is classified as "green tea," but the leaves are really very dark. Interesting.

This is my second order of Wah Kangra Green and it is consistently excellent quality. No bagged green tea that I have tried can compare. I enjoy a cup in the morning, and many times a cup in the evening. I was first acquainted with Kangra tea when I was in India in early March of this year. I am delighted to find it online and with an exceptionally fast delivery.

Very nicely balanced

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

From the opening pleasant grassy notes and fine leaf. Steeping brings grassy notes that are pleasant and additional mild woody notes are coming forward. Tasting is nicely balanced with grassy and woody notes nicely balanced by mild tannins. Possibly the slightest hint of fruitiness there as well. In do not often drink green teas but this was included as a free sample. Having brewed twice now I must say this is a very pleasant cup of tea and a very nice surprise that I would recommend highly.

This was included in my green tea sample pack and it's probably my favorite of this thus far. It's got very low bitterness and nice smooth taste that reminds me of fresh cut grass.

Every morning!

I bought some green tea in the Kangra district when I was in India earlier this year. When I finished it, I found that Teabox has a Kangra green, so I ordered it. I found it to be excellent. I drink a cup of green tea with breakfast, and after using the fresh Kangra leaves, I will never be able to go back to green tea bags purchased here in the US again.
