Zaloni Classic Summer Black Tea

description

The Zaloni tea estate is well-known for producing some of the best orthodox Assam black teas. This year, once again, we have been treated to a well-made, tippy black tea that's brisk, is tipped with robust flavors of herbs and nuts, and pairs superbly with a hearty breakfast spread.

As a regular Assam drinker the Zaloni summer black sits at the top of my list as an all round winner. Beautifully smooth, strong and robust with delectable breadth of flavours topping out distinctively with honey and sweetness. An absolute delight to enjoy any time of day.

Classic black tea

I like this tea very much. That is what i call classic black tea. It reminds me about my childhood , when we drank only indian tea in Russia (Soviet Union at that time). It is dark, a bit astringent, flavorfull and exhilarant. And it has a lot of coffein - that's great for bright mornings :) Also i like that i need only 1 teaspoon of this tea to have my cup of tea. It is very practical and easy to infuse in a muslin sachet. One of mz favourites!

Good breakfast tea

This is a strong, full-bodied tea with a great aroma! The flavor is not as complex and interesting as the others I've tried from Teabox, but I like it because it really wakes me up!

I bought this one on a whim and I'm so glad I did! Takes milk and sugar really well, a great cup!

Malty with a little sweet and astringent.

Water of Japan are soft water, low mineral concentration. I drink this tea plane. Flavor is typical assam of teabox-malty with a little sweet and astringent. and not too astrigent. If you love assam, this tea is a good tea interms of cost and quality.

Passes muster as adequate only daily fare

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body.

Dislikes : No Flavor, Weak.

Best Served : Morning.

I find the overall blend rather dull. Its most noteworthy attribute is its creaminess. Certainly, it’s an identifiable Assam, yet it lacks the distinction and riot of flavor that speak to me as an Assam enthusiast. Perhaps the addition of milk and/or sweetening would enhance the flavor, not an option for me because I prefer my cuppa unadorned.

Good all around Assam. A little sugar brings out the flavor nicely. Good with milk.

Beautiful morning tea. Rich and strong, malty character, nice red color and engaging aroma of almonds. Plus the price :-)

Surprisingly interesting Assam for the price

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Morning.

This is a surprisingly flavorful and interesting Assam for the price. The dry leaves have a wonderful aroma. Has a complex malty and slightly floral notes. The biggest downside is that, like many Assams, it is easy to over-steep and make bitter if you are not careful.
