Ingredients

  • 8 tsp of green tea
  • 5 cups of water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, plus more for garnish
  • Handful of mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Recipe

  • Wash your tea maker with a swish of warm water.
  • Boil four cups of water. Set aside for 1 minute.
  • Steep the green tea in the hot water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat one cup of water in a saucepan. Add sugar and ginger, and stir till all the sugar dissolves. Set aside and cool.
  • Store the green tea and the ginger syrup in a refrigerator.
  • When ready to serve, pour the green tea in a cup and sweeten with the ginger syrup.
