The Garden

Set along the fertile north bank of the Brahmaputra in Upper Assam, Koilamari crafts orthodox teas combining classic Assam richness with a remarkable sense of elegance.

Warm days and cool evenings deepen the leaf, and its summer harvest bursts with ripe raspberry preserve layered over honeyed malt, stone fruit, soft wood and cocoa.

Taste
Medium-bodied, bright and beautifully layered, the cup opens with luscious notes of raspberry preserve that immediately enliven the palate. As the liquor unfolds, a rich undercurrent of honeyed Assam malt provides warmth and structure, complemented by succulent dried stone fruit and delicate peach nuances. A gentle interplay of sweetness and soft tartness carries through to the finish, where fleeting hints of grape and buttery confection lend added complexity. The aftertaste is long, clean and fruit-forward, with lingering impressions of raspberry and sweet malt that invite another sip.

Very pleasant

This is a very pleasant tea. I was sceptical at first since it had an element of "cocoa", since you often find that in tea that is more "nutty", and I am not too fond of that.
For me, that element is hardly detectable and more on the pleasing side.
The tea doesn't stand out in any direction with any particular taste, other than being on the sweet side, but that is also its strength.
It is great wether I steep it in cup or teapot.
