Recently tried two of the Nilgiri Frost teas on offer and what a pleasant surprise it was ! Finally some flavour, some taste in the cup that leaves any of these mega pricy Darjeelings for dead - and Yes, I tried some of those as well with no repeat in a hurry. For me a great Darjeeling is becoming more and more a distant memory…..what a pity.

This winter frost tea is simple awesome. The aroma and taste are exquisite.

This rea has a rollicking caffeine boost. I found the flavor too light for my taste, but if you like a light-bodied tea with a nice punch, try this.

Outstanding example of a Nilgiri winter frost tea. Intensely aromatic with a fruity-floral characteristic - delightful note of black currant. On the palate, smooth and medium bodied with a hint of umami. Finishes with the wintergreen flavour unique to this type of tea.

The tea is very good, tasty and fresh but not tannic. Not so keen on the price.

I wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the Glendale Winter Frost Black. It does have subtle floral notes that remind me of spring. I have been experimenting with the amount I use and the tea is so complex I get wonderful variations on flavor. I honestly said "Oh my!" the first time I sipped this tea (lol-that does not happen often). One of the best black teas I have had. Thanks for finding it!

This tea is a real, rare dusky beauty from down south. There is so much of a distinct personality to this one: lovely aroma, beautiful dull greenish steeped leaves, a taste that tantalizes and surprises you at every note. It hits you gently like a well bodied green at the sip, sinks through your taste buds and leaves and evolving aftertaste which is a mix of floral, fruity, smoky and liquorish. The aroma evolves as the tea cools down with vegetal, floral and so much of fresh morning energy when hot; leading up to soothing, smoky when cool. Truly a Cleopatra of teas, a must try!!!

I realy love this tea. It's fresh and light. You could sip it anytime of the day. Tea from Nilgiri never disappoint me.

I've got this tea as one of free samples with my order. It ended up to be my favorite out of the five teas i tried from Teabox.
Light, floral taste. Great tea!

Quality tea, fresh and floral. It has an unusual aftertaste, hard to describe but pleasant and unique.

This tea has a very unique and pleasant aroma profile. The long leaves bloom to give a champagne colored brew, which give off a pleasing aromas of eucalyptus and subtle floral and vegetal notes. The floral note is not cloyingly sweet like jasmine, but more mellow. The vegetal notes too are subtle, without venturing into b2C the liquor is mildly sweet, fragrant and 'crisp', with little to no astringency. Long brewing times make it more astringent though.

Very nice tea. The winter flush is better but more expensive. If you like Nilgiris, I would splurge for the winter. Both are fine teas.

The Glendale Twirl (Spring) is a gorgeous tea with long leaves and twisted leaves. Although it is a black tea, it has a mild fruity flavor and smell. It is one of the best black teas I have had in 2014.

This tea was very different to the black Darjeelings I've been sampling (First Flush Black Tea sampler). The leaves were long unbroken, very nice to look at. Rather than a strong muscatel aroma, the aroma of the tea (before even drinking it) was surprisingly just like cinnamon. This reminds me of yunnan black teas, but it is more floral.

I am traditionally a Nilgiri fan. I think Glendale is the best Nilgiri estate. 2014 twirl (spring) is especially very aromatic,fragrant and flavoured. It was the best choice to buy among the Nilgiri this year.
