How To Steep

Step 1

Heat 150ml of water to 85–90°C (185-194°F).

Step 2

Measure 1.5 tsp (2.5 g) of tea into the teapot or infuser.

Step 3

Pour the hot water over the leaves and cover.

Step 4

Let it steep for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Strain and pour. These leaves give their best in one steep.

Serving

Best enjoyed plain, or add a dash of milk, honey or lemon.

What is the recommended steeping method for this tea?

I just love this tea .

Amazing flavor profile after it cools off a bit.

I add milk and a very neutral honey to my Darjeelings to expand the profile a bit by letting the milk give it more structure and allowing the honey to bring out the bright notes a little more. Using a neutral honey is key, as many of the fancy honeys will mask the tea profile with their flower notes. That being said, this tea absolutely sings when the temperature falls to between warm and hot and even expands into different flavors at room temperature. Very impressive, the cacao and surprisingly mint really shine through. Golden is aptly named, as the tea feels golden in your mouth and the muscatel truly shines with Sauternes and earth carrying through the entire symphony of flavors.

This tea is so fresh and clear. I no longer want to spoil it with milk as the flavour is superb with no hint of bitterness.

I tried this tea as part of the trial pack. I didn't like the Earl Grey but that's a personal preference. The other teas in the trial pack were all very good, but the Darjeeling Lopchu Flowery Orange Pekoe was so good I immediately ordered a full pack. Disappointing Sale

This has been a long-time family favourite, since the 1960's. All the remembered qualities have been retained. After becoming a regular customer of Teabox, I have also developed a liking for other teas, from Assam and the Nilgiris. Unfortunately, under the new discount policy of Teabox, I am forced to buy 500 gms of a particular tea in order to take advantage of the discount, which is disappointing. Kindly go through my shopping records, especially before 2020, to see my preference trends. Hope you can help me to obtain more of my preferred teas without having to order 500 gms of each.

My go-to afternoon cup - a traditional black that's great with milk

I drink several different teas, most from the the Assam region. But my go-to afternoon cup is the Orange Pekoe. It's a rich black tea that tastes great with milk. It reminds me of the comfort of drinking tea with my mother when I was a teenager. I can't promise it will remind you of YOUR mother, but you will find it a great traditional cup.
