Excellent Assam. Not too big, smooth and expansive.

Likes : Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Morning.

Oh, yes. This is excellent. Terrific price for a tea that is an easy, smooth morning brew. It doesn't veer towards the overpowering fullness of big Assams. Just a great everyday choice.

Sweet and Smooth Assam delight

This is a beautiful Assam tea, gently sweet and wholly smooth. A floral edge underwritten with a nutty base. An absolutely delicious single estate treat.

always reliable

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Halmari FOP teas are just so consistently solid. Seems a bit sweeter and fruitier than last year's. Not as much of the red wine tannins. For that reason, I prefer this years Doomni Gold as a breakfast cup, but this a splendid any-time-of-day tea.

full malty character with cherry aroma

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

Just finished my pack from last year flush - still fresh and aromatic, wow! Lovely balmy tea with full body and engaging rich fruity aroma resembling cherries. One of my favourites from Assam sample pack. Strongly considering this one as an Assam supply :-)

This is a top shelf Assam, and a good value too. Worth stocking up on this one. Should last nicely.

Nector of the Gods

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

I reviewed this tea in 2014 and pronounced it "Perhaps my favorite single estate Assam so far." That remains true in 2015. This tea has it all: full bodied and malty with an unusual fruity nector-like sweetness.

Bold and balanced

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning.

This tea has the typical characteristics of a great Assam tea many of the other reviewers have already pointed out - maltiness and richness. What I particularly like about it is that it can also be enjoyed without milk - just for a change - and that it is quite an elegant tea. Having said that I don't mind the bigger and powerful Assams with milk either....

Very solid value, all of the good characteristics of an Assam. Bold but not too powerful, holds up well all day.

A quintessential Assam tea

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning.

Swapped some of my Mangalam Gold (OR-815) for this wonderful tea from a friends's recent Teabox order. Side by side, this is lot has got more Assam characteristics that I'm fond of. Pungent malt and spice aroma. A bracing cup with red wine complexity and very impressive finish. Good straight up or with a splash of milk. I'll certainly pick some up with my next order.

While heating my spring H2O in a stainless pan over gas heat, I wait until many bubbles arise then turn off heat & look for wisps of steam. Using a tea ball I place it in the hot water, as this is the correct temp., for 3 1/2 minutes, then dunk the tea ball in & out until the color deepens to the correct strength. My microwave timer is used. I place the tea balls in a 10 ounce glass jar for one more use quite often, and then open the teaball & squeeze out the remaining nectar. Always was thoroughly and rinse with hot water your tea balls. I have two tea balls in use, with new spares as needed. This tea is smooth and sweet. It is a bargain. Somewhat like peaches to my taste. Best Assam yet. I have only tried three teas from Tea Box, and have been lucky with each one: Nepal Ilam EX-37 Black, & Mangalam OR-815. Both excellent teas. I can mix the Nepal with the other two teas, as a variation. Happy dunking!

nice bold black tea

This is a good bold black tea with a hint of spice and sweetness. Not too bitter, but flavorful enough to have both in the morning and in the afternoon. For now, this is my go to black tea.

Good, strong everyday tea

Dislikes : Strong.

I tend to resteep my teas a few times throughout the day. I thought that this one had good strength and flavor as a wake-up tea, but also held up and was refreshing throughout the day. Not the strongest tea I have had, but a good, solid tea for versatile drinking.

Great, Tippy, Malty Assam

The tea is an amazing Assam representative! Nice, full, malty flavor, good and strong, and goes down nicely. It produces a rich dark liquid and the leaves look like they were just picked. I'm adjusting my morning routine so I can savor this brew! The only issue is you have to be especially careful to not over-brew because it can get bitter quickly. This was my first order from Teabox and it was an easy online order! I loved watching it travel literally around the world as I tracked its shipping progress. Can't wait to try the samples too!

A Solid Citizen in the world of Assams

Likes : Smooth Body.

Best Served : Morning.

Oooooh. This is a wonderful tea. The smell of the golden tippy dry leaf was biscuit-y and malty...and the liquid was dark red with the same fragrance, but now it was warm malty biscuits! I'm learning that I adore second flush assams as long as they are not too astringent, and this tea is one I could love. The malt and sweet biscuit give this Halmari a nice round mouthfeel and a beautiful smooth flavor profile. A solid citizen among Assams. It because even more wonderful with milk and sugar. Seriously, a tea that can make you forget about eating breakfast is an amazing mouthful of tea. I'm going back for seconds.

My first order from Tea Box. Full bodied when steeped for 5 minutes. Mildly astringent for a bit of mouth feel. Malty starting flavor.
