North-East India Classic Summer Green Tea

We have created this green tea blend with teas sourced from the coop growers of the northeast. It's very vegetal with classic green tea flavors. What sets it apart is its color - a striking light green liquor - and the uncommon smoky notes in the tea.

the experience

Cooked corn, white flowers and hints of firewood

Light green

The liquor is smooth, full bodied, with an ample mouth feel from the very first sip. The smoky green note becomes mellow with white flowers and notes of sweet corn. Hints of vegetal and wood are discernible as well, without being bitter.

Classic Green Tea

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

The dried leaves are curled into small pearls, and smell of raw spinach with a woody note. The steeped tea is a pale gold, and smells of spinach very mildly. The taste is overall very mild and subtle, with notes of cooked greens. It is bitter if oversteeped, but when done right is a very pleasant, refreshing tea. It’s a classic green tea, and is perfectly what it sets out to be. Flavors: Spinach, Umami

A wonderfully grassy green tea

This tea has a wonderfully bold aroma and taste - very grassy, and the aftertaste has a long lingering sweetness (not sweetened - just the sweetness of a well-picked & brewed green tea). If you like strong grassy/vegetal flavors, I highly recommend trying this tea. I *really* enjoy this tea, and will be buying a full-sized package so I can add it to my permanent tea rotation.

Non-Intrusive, Simple Green Tea

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Weak.

Best Served : Anytime.

The curled, snail-like dried leaves give off a grassy, straw-like aroma with a subtle hint of smokiness. The steeped liquor is a medium yellow/green color with a modest aroma: fairly subtle vegetal tones with a hint of a bite which invites the palate to adventure in. North-East India Classic Summer Green has a pretty simple and basic taste profile overall, it's quite vegetal with a hint of bitterness and a semi-dry mouthfeel. It's really a non-intrusive cuppa that would be great to tote along when traveling. There's nothing lacking nor exceptional about it, it's just a decent green tea that would probably do well iced.

Very nice green tea. Flavour is fresh, caffein is low. You can drink it anytime. My tea cup is 14 fl and I only put in two spoons and it's just the right balance.

Early morning, afternoon

This green tea is one of its kind, a really refreshing flavor as mentioned by other reviewers. As soon as I opened it, the aroma reminded me of alphonso mangoes that I have in monsoon. Even though it has fruity aroma, it has its own characteristic. Its light on palate and refreshes ur mind. One of the best green teas I had.

A nice change

Likes : Freshness.

Best Served : Afternoon, Evening.

This was my first Indian Green tea, although as I used to live in Japan I have had many green teas from the far east. This was a very good tea, noticeably darker than most far eastern ones. Very good value for money and well worth trying a sample (which was very cheap when I had it).

Delicate and refreshing

I am not very knowledgable about green tea and drink less of it than black or oolong tea. This is a finely balanced and delicate tea with lots of nuances. It is pleasantly refreshing, soft and ethereal. Friends have enjoyed it too! And they are green tea connoisseurs!

Very Subtly Flavored

Likes : Freshness.

Best Served : Evening, Dessert Tea.

I don't know what I was expecting from this Himalayan Relish, but the "tropical fruit" flavor is rather elusive to my palate. That said, the blend is certainly pleasant enough to drink. I would compare the quality to that of Palais des Thes flavored green tea blends. The base green tea seems to be very similar. The main difference, again, is the subtlety of the added flavors. I actually have no idea which "tropical fruits" are supposed to be implicated here. Even sniffing the dried leaves does not solve the mystery! That said, Himalayan Relish seems like a safe choice for people who prefer blends to pure green teas, but this one is closer to a pure tea than most flavored blends. It is light and thirst quenching. Don't forget to use cooler water (80C is what I used) and a short steep time (3 mins tops). Also don't forget to reinfuse the spent leaves for a second round!
