Thurbo Moonlight Spring White Tea

description

The Thurbo tea estate is famous for its bright tasting teas and this AV2 clonal Moonlight lives up to its reputation. This tea is medium-bodied, incredibly smooth, and full of sweet and well-balanced floral-fruity elements. What sets it apart from other spring teas of the season are its exceptionally refined flavors.

Powdery, marked by the lifted sweetness of ripe tropical fruits, a touch of green, and hints of citrus blossom.

taste

A typical first flush Darjeeling, the liquor starts out clean and crisp, turning sweet in the middle. The fruity-floral flavors in this tea are neatly interlaced, rendering the liquor mellow and balanced. The cup is slightly brisk, has brightness of yellow stone fruit, and feels impressively polished. The second steep has more pronounced notes of aromatic white flowers, like citrus blossoms.

While I don't catch any hint of cherry blossom, this tea is definitely floral with bold notes of sweet lime. Very smooth from start to finish, with a hint of sweetness. Very nice any time of day, but I think it would be especially delicious as a dessert tea, maybe paired with cheesecake or creme brûlée

I wasn't sure if I would like this, as I'm not normally a white tea lover. One Sio changed my mind. This tea was absolutely delicious. Easily my favorite of the sample pack I received. It was full bodied yet light and I enjoyed it hot. However, I let the tea cool and took a sip. Oh my. I am so looking forward to trying this as an iced tea!

Excellent Tea.

This is one of the most refreshing teas I have ever had the pleasure of trying. It is nice and fruity and it is so fresh it seems like it was just picked yesterday. I like brewing a really strong cup and watching the liquor turn golden in color. It is a superior tea by any measure and was immediately one of my favorite teas from the sampler that I purchase. I also liked how the tea smells almost like magnolia flowers. A real treat I am sure even the most avid tea oppoonent would enjoy.

Just as described

I have just finished a 50g package of this tea and in my view, it is very accurately described in the Tea Characteristics as provided above. The leaves were fresh and dust free and smelt like fresh cut grass/hay. I always enjoy smelling the leaves prior to making the tea as it provides a hint of what is to come. Enjoyed and highly recommended.
