Billimalai Special Winter Frost White Tea

description

Made from the high-quality B/5/63 clone, this white tea is about pleasant flavors and a velvety smooth texture. Made by wilting under steam, the tea has a noticeable vegetal taste that’s uncommon in Indian white teas. However, the choice of clone ensures the cup fluid, well-rounded, slightly sweet, and immensely pleasant on the senses.

Exceptional Nilgiri tea

Best Served : Anytime, Morning.

I have had many Nilgiri Green and White teas over the years and this one is right up there with the best of the best. Smooth flavor of fruits, brilliant finish that is almost buttery in taste. I have rarely encountered teas that end with a buttery after-taste, not in a bad way - it just highlights the excellent finish this tea has. Hugely recommended.

My first 5-star review!

I haven't a great deal to add to Steep Easy's review (which is great!) other than to mention that this is my first 5-Star review. I found this tea to be just perfect! The taste of fruit/mango is wonderful and the body is just right. After the sweet tropical tastes, there is that wonderful, fresh 'green' taste that lingers for a moment that is quite addictive. I tried a second steep and, although it was 'thinner' it was still great. Drunk plain outside in some gentle spring sunshine - heaven on earth!

Incredible Fruit Aroma, Balanced Taste

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime, Morning, Dessert Tea.

From the moment I opened the bag I was greeted with strong tones of sweet fruit, so fragrant that it rivaled the aroma of infused/flavored tea. When the hot water hit the dried leaves the sweet/spicy aroma of fruit was overtaken by a malty/grainy scent. The finished liquor was very pale and ever so slightly yellow. The aroma of tropical fruit returned to the steeped liquid and the play of sweetness from a dried fruit taste greeted the palate, while finished almost vegetal like many greens are. The sweet/fruity taste was subtle enough and balanced out by the vegetal/grainy tones to make repeat drinking not just pleasant, but a must. I even over-steeped some to see if it could turn bitter, but it never did, just the cereal notes got a bit more embellished. Smooth, warm and inviting when hot and leads me to believe if instantly iced it would be crisp and refreshing. Five stars.
