Craigmore Special Winter Frost Black Tea

description

Every year with look forward to the flowery pekoes by Craigmore, and this one has been our absolute favorite. This particular black tea has a rich flavor profile, full of varied aromas and taste. None of these, however impose on your senses, and gently ease their way through the palate. Like an old classic you keep going back to, this tea will keep you coming back for seconds and thirds.

Light and full of flavor

Likes : Freshness, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Anytime.

At first, I wasn't sure about liking it, because it's a less assertive tea, but by the end of the cup I was loving the subtle flavors and sweetness. It's a great tea for when you need a change from strong black teas.

Lightly Smooth Raisin & Spinach

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dry leaves have a sweet raisin-like aroma with a hint of vegetal/spice. Leaves really expand when brewed. Aroma of raisin definitely predominates, both in wet leaves and brewed tea. It has a rich, dark, reddish color which I love. I'm expecting a sweet taste based on the aroma, but it actually has a nice, mild, lightly smooth palate with balanced notes of citrus, spinach, and nuts. My favorite of the winter collection so far.

Wonderful tea

This is a very complex tea. It has a great aroma and flavor. It seems to have a fair amount of caffeine so I won't drink it at night but it great another time. Adding honey seems to enhance the flavor a lot as well

A straight forward, enjoyable black tea

Likes : Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

Best Served : Anytime, Afternoon.

I don't normally use sweetener of any kind in my tea, but I considered it with this one. Not too strong with a malty-type feel to it, this was a great afternoon tea for me.

Clean and sweet

One of the best teas I've had from Teabox. Mildly astringent, not too strong, but a very clean and slightly sweet taste. Great for any time of the day.

Lovely way to start the day

I loved everything about this tea, and could drink it all day. The smell from the moment you open the bag is wonderful and only gets better as the steam from a fresh cup rises. I would recommend this tea to anyone.

Craigmore Classic Winter Nilgiri Clonal Black

Likes : Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Dislikes : Weak.

The look of this tea was great. Seeing real leaves made me enjoy the tea even more. The smell was interesting, not off-putting, just strange. The flavor of this tea was nice; my favorite of the 3. I would prefer something a little stronger however. It reminded me of the earth, and relaxation.

Good everyday tea

Very nice balance between natural sweetness and brineyness. Very slight bitterness in the aftertaste, so while a somewhat mild tea, it has enjoyable complexity. Would certainly buy again.

Great breakfast tea

Likes : Freshness, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

I was very curious about this fourth flush tea from Nilgiri. Until I read about teabox I didn't know about either Nilgiri nor that there was a fourth flush possible. This tea has been a great change to my range breakfast Assams. It is very clean on the palate maybe because of the slight citrus notes. I also enjoy the stone fruit characters and the moderate smokey tobacco notes on the finish. A great tea from - at least in Australia- a little heard of tea region.

A Good Surprise - Just What I Needed

Likes : Freshness, Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

I wanted to try another Nilgiri Tea and expand my experience beyond Assam and Darjeeling Teas. This tea offers an excellent change-up from my usual tea routine. This tea is dark, with an intense pleasant fragrance. When brewed it has an intense aroma and taste that I find attractive. I prefer to take it without milk and sugar. I usually drink it mid-morning and mid-afternoon: it has become the great change-up I was looking for.
