Medium Bodied Tannins and Amazing Color

Likes : Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile.

Brilliant autumn amber color with another subtle Muscatel aroma of fruit, but I cannot distinguish it from the tannins. The palate is said to have Raspberries and Orchids but they are very very subtle (you can find them if you are looking for them), you do get these wonderful medium bodied tannins that are lasting throughout the finish, but they impact on the fruit. Don't get me wrong, I like this Muscatel very much, I just find the tannis are little more impactful than previous Muscatel offerings. 2nd Steeping is worth it if you enjoyed the first as it is very similar if done for 7minutes.

Precise brewing required

Likes : Smooth Body.

Dislikes : Bitter if Over-Steeped.

I've struggled a bit with this tea to get the brewing conditions right. Small changes in brewing produced big changes in the character of the liquor. For me, using the upper end of the recommended leaf amount, along with a shorter brewing time, produced the best result. After experimentation, I ended up with: 200 deg F (93 C), 3.50 g, 180 ml, 3 min Several steepings were possible, with smooth, long-lasting flavor. I'm not convinced of the price-performance of this blend-- there are so many outstanding single estate Darjeelings on Teabox that are considerably less expensive.

An excellent example of muscatel Darjeeling

Likes : Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality.

Best Served : Morning, Afternoon.

An excellent Darjeeling. Notes of spice, pepper, muscatel, and then malt and hops on the finish. Distinctly Darjeeling, but none of the char or ashy notes I’ve picked up in many that I’ve tried.

Delicious!

This is one of my favorite blends. The aroma has sweetness that reflects also in the taste. Raisins, baked cookies...that is what the taste remind me of. I loved it with a sip of milk as my morning cup of tea.

This tea is an outstanding experience. The flavour keeps on developing and with each sip I discovered more nuances. There were rich mellow malty tones and refreshing grape flavours. It is full bodied and rich with an incredibly long aftertaste. A real highlight of my sampling so far. Thank you teabox!
